- Tobacco use could kill one billion people worldwide by the year 2100, according to a report by the World Health Organization. Only 100 million died from tobacco use in the 20th century.
- Facebook isn't just for zombie attacks: it was instrumental in organizing last week's nationwide protests against terrorism in Colombia.
- Controversial R&B singer Amy Winehouse won five Grammys on Sunday night, including Record of the Year. According to Agence France-Press, Winehouse "was initially refused a US visa to travel to Los Angeles to perform at the show, and was only given the green light by US authorities on Friday."

- New York Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez and Hall of Fame pitcher Juan Marichal were videotaped participating in a cockfight in their native Dominican Republic. Although illegal in the U.S., cockfighting is legal in the Dominican Republic.
- Soon-to-be parents Diego Luna and Camila Sodi are rumored to be married.
- Too Faced Cosmetics claims its brand of "guilt free lip gloss" can supress one's appetite. Horrible.
