- Eating near your computer and not washing your hands after you visit the restroom can make your keyboard a health hazard. The average office desktop contains 400 times more bacteria than an office toilet seat, according to research by the University of Arizona.

- Cuba has lifted a ban on home computers, weeks after easing similar restrictions on hotels, cell phones and other electronics.
- The tour bus accident that sent Tejano singer Emilio Navaira to the hospital has been classified a DWI (driving while intoxicated). Navaira was reportedly behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
- Bolivian President Evo Morales says he will ignore what he calls an "illegal and unconstitutional" referendum that would give autonomy to the wealthy Eastern region of Santa Cruz. The voting sparked violence in towns across Santa Cruz, resulting in at least one death.
