- "The Simpsons" will return to Venezuelan TV in an evening time slot after being deemed "unsuitable for minors." That's the same time slot assigned to new episodes of the popular comedy in America.
- Less Latino immigrants are sending money to their home countries. Only half of an estimated 19 million Latino immigrants in the U.S. have sent money to relatives this year, compared with 73 percent two years ago, according to a survey released by the Inter-American Development Bank.

- Mexican police have cordoned off a hospital in Tijuana, México, where eight alleged members of a drug cartel are being treated. Fifteen people were killed in drug shootouts over the weekend. One in four people killed in drug-related violence in México this year were killed in Tijuana.
- The Disney Channel, home of TV show "Hannah Montana," released an official statement condemning Vanity Fair magazine for publishing "racy" photos of Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana: "Unfortunately … a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines."
- Daddy Yankee and "America's Next Top Model" winner Jaslene Gonzalez are Harvard University's "Latino and Latina of the Year."
- It's all flashing lights and lollipops in "Fuera del Planeta," a new video by Jowell y Randy ft. Zion and Eloy. (via Blog Reggaetón)
- Colombian police say they have killed Victor Manuel Mejia Munera, one of the country's most notorious drug lords. Prior to his death, U.S. officials were offering a $5 million reward for information leading to his capture.
