- Kanye West has re-recorded his new single "Love Lockdown" after a leaked version got negative reviews on the Internet.
- At least eight people were killed in an explosion during Mexican Independence Day celebrations in Morelia, México. Police officials blame drug gangs for tossing two grenades in the crowd.
- Ninety-nine percent of boys and 94 percent of girls in the U.S. play video games, according to a survey from the Pew Internet & American Life Project. The survey also concludes that there is "little difference in the percentages among various racial and ethnic groups and incomes."
- 50 Cent says Eminem is unhappy with his recent recordings and fans may have to wait even longer for a new album: "A lot of material he wrote prior to this is being scrapped. He's got to feel like it's just happened, it's new and it's current."
