- Eight out of 10 Americans think the country is on "the wrong track," according to a poll by CBS News and The New York Times. Only four of 10 felt the same way in 2002.
- Employers cut 80,000 jobs in March, making the unemployment rate rise to 5.1 percent, the highest percentage in three years.
