Elvira Arellano, the Mexican woman who has lived in a Chicago church for the last year to avoid being deported and separated from her eight-year-old U.S.-born son, was arrested after attending a church meeting in Los Angeles and was later deported to Tijuana. Arellano has become a symbol of the growing sanctuary movement.
