WELL PUERTO RICO AND COLOMBIA ARE BOTH THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES, SO JUST THE FACT THAT THE PEOPLE LIVING THERE DONT REALLY CARE ABOUT MATERIALISM WOULD MAKE SENSE.

we spend money we dont even have
materialism is a big part of this island
maybe not the main reason its a happy place but it deffinately takes on a big role

YES BUT YOUR PROBABLY TALKING ABOUT MATERIALISM BEING JEWELRY AND CLOTHE THAT IS EVERYWHERE, CAUSE IT IS WHAT IT IS. IM TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE MIGHT BE HAPPY CAUSE OF FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS AND THE FACT THAT YOU KNOW EVERYBODY PRETTY MUCH IN THE SAME COLONIA, PROBABLY CAUSE EVERYBODY GROWS 2GETHER IN THE SAME WAY AND DONT THINK OF BEING BETTER THAN OTHERS . NOT LIKE IN THE U,S WHERE U DONT EVEN TALK TO UR NEIGHBOR.

my point exactly...
ur thinking of puerto rico like cuba or sumthing
puerto rico is super modern
... kinda like a state just not official
things have changed here a lot
... as much as i love it here, people are not all that social
spend a week in puerto rico and u would understand, until then you wont ;]

by the way, materialism only has ONE deffinition
which is everything and anything material
including clothes jewelery cars etc etc etc...
get ur facts straight hunny ;]
... materialism can only come from cash & not every country in this world can experience that luxury
[including a lot of pueblos in puerto rico that are still SUPER old school, there are people who have to drive hours to get to a mall...]
