  • Juanes' fourth studio album, La Vida Es ... Un Ratico (Life Is Short), is a “project with … memorable melodies guaranteed to become hits and … distinctive guitar riffs, but with a decidedly more pronounced edge," according to Billboard.com. "Musically, [Juanes] has perfected his distinctive fusion and reconnected with the purpose and power that gave his debut album such a startling impact,” gushes The Los Angeles Times.
  • Rock N Roll Jesus, Kid Rock's tenth studio recording, is a "balls-to-the-wall album [that] finds Kid Rock latching onto the verities of sex, drugs and rock & roll as a path to redemption – both his and the country's,” screams Rolling Stone. “Anyone who's ever enjoyed his brand of raunchy, silly, occasionally earnest rawk will be entertained by this second coming,” concedes The Boston Globe.
  • Southern rappers Boyz N Da Hood return with new member Gorilla Zoe – and sans Young Jeezy – for their second album, Back Up N Da Chevy. While the album is “not as strong without Jeezy, Boyz N Da Hood still manage to put in that work,” admits XXL Magazine. Nobody Smiling is disappointed: “Back Up N Da Chevy is definitely an album that could be passed on unless you’re looking for a beer coaster.”
  • Cult alternative duo Ween delivers La Cucaracha, their album. “There are a couple of moments on La Cucaracha that can stand up with some of the band's best work; it's too bad they're not more frequent,” laments Pitchforkmedia. Although the album is “named after a traditional Spanish folk song, any Spanish influences are fairly limited,” determines The New Noise, which calls La Cucaracha "as infuriating as it is pleasing.”
