A cellphone video from August 11th shows an LAPD officer (white) repeatedly punching a suspect (Latino) in the face, while the latter is pinned to the curb. The suspect, reportedly a gangbanger, was wanted for receiving a stolen gun. The violent arrest has been under investigation for the last three months. The video was posted on YouTube on October 18th, picked up by the LA press on Thursday, and, on Friday, went from 4,000 to 500,000 views. It is now making the rounds on television.
