They're both completely different! Common is eloquent hip-hop and Lil Wayne is gangasta hip-hop. Both are amazingly talented. Lil Wayne is mad tight, he can spit like no other...he's lyrics are sick, he murders it all the time. Common is at a different level... his lyrics are sophisticated! He's more of a mediator amongst people ...an influential figure. So this is a bad comparison of artists...

I disagree with the rest of the people i think it's Common all the way. Lil Wayne's popularity is only due to sticking to the stereotype of a "rapper". While Common has his own image his own style and his lyrics are just the best out there. While LIl Wayne jus talks about gang stuff therefore further deepening the stereotype that society has about rappers and those who follow their style.
