From singing Selena songs at Quinceañera fiestas in San Angelo, to climbing the charts with her debut album, Paula DeAnda is on track to become one of the finest R&B singers of her generation.

The 16-year-old Corpus Christi native has talent to spare. Not only does her powerful voice put her within easy reach of Rihanna and Ciara fans, DeAnda writes her own songs in English and Spanish, and delivers them with an easy, sultry style.

DeAnda's rise to stardom began with "What Would It Take", an independent radio hit that led to a recording contract with J Records. Her self-titled debut album was executive produced by major label big-shot Clive Davis, who enlisted the likes of Timbaland, Ne-Yo, Lil' Wayne, Happy Perez, Frankie J, Danja, Stargate and Diane Warren to contribute to the album. But once again, DeAnda's light shines brightest: she wrote six of the songs on her debut – a feat very few pop artists ever accomplish, let alone a singer barely old enough to get a driver's license.
