Yasmin: Comedy

All I wanted to do today was crawl under a rock and die, not hide, die. You wouldn't believe what we had to do today. Now, mind you, I love to perform, but under different circumstances. Today was one of the most ESTRESSFUL lol (and i can laugh about it NOW) moments of my life. Now, we all know I can be dramatic at times, but not this time. I was seriously about to pee and #2 on myself the whole time today. Are you ready to know what we did?. Today Crash and I did stand up comedy. I know!!!!!!what were we thinking? man, yo no se.

When we got to the comedy spot,we met with to comics Sheila and Ernie G. They prepped us for what was about to be one of the most embarrassing moments in our careers (OK now I'm being dramatica). Keep in mind neither Crash or myself had ever done stand up comedy, so we needed all the help we could get. So they helped us with our set. I don't know what I would have done if we didn't have their expertise. Although I do have to say, que el Ernie G aveces era demaciado para mi, he was a little too much at times. We did learn a lot from them though.

For example Crash learned that she could take her anger and turn it into something positive. She became an angry comic, and used that for her set. I don't know what kind of comic I was. But I do know that I learned that in order to become a good comic one has to be able to crack on ones self and not be afraid to let your audience see your vulnerabilities. I'm not saying I did all that now, but I'm not saying I'm a good comic either.
We all know practice makes perfect, so we practiced. I really didn't want to, I just wanted to get on that stage once and get OFF. I went first of course, and when it was showtime, I had to go first again. You already know I was heated. I had butterflies in my stomach the whole time Ernie G and Shaila were opening for us (I'm nervous right now thinking about it).

I go up on stage and started my set. Once I got up there it was like all the nervousness floated out of my body. I was actually getting laughs from the audience. Then I realized it wasn't so bad after all. Next thing I knew I was done, and everyone was clapping, I was so relieved. Then my girl Crash went up, she did her thang thang. I was so proud of her, I was proud of us. We really did it, we were comics for the day. Now I can say we we're good comics.
